Lassina Zerbo, a distinguished geophysicist, brings vast expertise in nuclear security and science diplomacy. As the 3rd Executive Secretary of the CTBTO, he positioned the organization as a global leader in nuclear test-ban verification. Under his leadership, the CTBT monitoring system surpassed expectations, swiftly responding to global nuclear tests.

He has been instrumental in fostering intergenerational engagement, founding initiatives like the CTBTO GEM and the CTBTO Youth Group, now comprising 850+ young professionals across 109 countries.

Beyond nuclear security, Zerbo served as Prime Minister of Burkina Faso (2021) and has been an active member of global security platforms, including the Munich Security Council and the World Economic Forum.
