Haniyah Bakare

Profile

Haniyah Bakare is a development professional with a background in media, international relations, and nonprofit work. She began her career at Nigerian Tribune, where she managed the online Crime and Security desk before pursuing a Master’s in International Relations and a graduate certificate in International Non-Governmental Organizations from Webster University, Leiden.

Her transition into the INGO space began with an internship at the Centre for African Justice, Peace and Human Rights in The Hague, where she contributed to advocacy efforts for women’s economic empowerment. She later joined Open Society-Africa (formerly OSIWA) in Abuja, where she supported program implementation, stakeholder engagement, communications, finance, and administrative management. Her work spanned governance, human rights, justice, and civic space, and involved close collaboration with grants, finance, and legal teams.

With a strong interest in justice, democracy, and civic participation, Haniyah is excited to bring her experience and creativity to T&M Advisory to support its mission of advancing inclusive development and responsive governance in Nigeria and beyond.
